Scanning dark and bright rooms

Both very dark and very bright rooms can give poorer scans. Here's how to handle both.

Dark rooms

In low light you can use the flashlight function, which you'll find in the bottom left corner during scanning. It requires the app to be updated to the latest version.

In very dark rooms — for example a basement without power — you may need an extra light source, such as a powerful external flashlight.

Bright rooms and low contrast

In completely white rooms (white on white) the sensor has little to latch onto. Start where there's contrast — often at the transition to the floor — and follow the corner upwards.

Note: If the flashlight button is missing, check that the app is updated in the App Store or Google Play.
