Accuracy and limitations of scanning
Measurements in Wenn Property are calculated from the 3D scan. How accurate they are depends on the conditions during the inspection.
How to get the most accurate measurements
- Good lighting — open curtains and turn on lights, especially on dark or single-coloured surfaces.
- Close doors and windows to define the room's boundaries. Scan the frame, not the glass itself.
- Clear the corners and remove clutter for cleaner results.
- Move the device slowly and steadily, one room at a time.
Known limitations
Some situations can give less accurate measurements:
- Sloping roofs / sloped ceilings.
- Missing wall panels or open constructions.
- Open sightlines to adjacent rooms, which cause the scanner to pick up areas outside the room.
In such cases: scan extra carefully following the tips above, and check the measurements in the web app.
Can I adjust the measurements afterwards?
It depends on how the model was created:
- Imported scan or address lookup (outdoor): the 3D model itself can't be adjusted.
- Floor plan in the drawing editor: here you can adjust the measurements as you like — the floor plan becomes a dynamic 3D model.
- Inspection notes: you can speak or write adjustments, which are added as text notes under «Notater» (Notes) and/or «Arbeidsbeskrivelse» (Work description).
Still large discrepancies?
If you keep getting inaccurate measurements, contact support from the help button inside Wenn Property and give the project name, and we'll look at the specific case.
