Exporting an IFC file
Download a complete 3D model of the interior rooms from Wenn Property as an IFC file — an open file format that can be opened in most BIM and CAD programs.
What is IFC?
IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is an open standard format for exchanging building information. The file contains a full 3D model of the scanned rooms — with walls, doors, windows, openings and exact measurements — in a format that can be read across different programs, regardless of vendor.
That means you can take the interior 3D model from Wenn Property into tools like Revit, ArchiCAD, Solibri, BIMcollab, SketchUp or other programs that support IFC — without manual measuring or data entry.
Downloading an IFC file
- Open the project and select a floor in the left sidebar (e.g. «2nd floor»)
- Open the «Informasjon» (Information) tab in the right panel
- Scroll down to the download area
- Tap «IFC» to download the file
The IFC file downloads to your downloads folder and can be opened directly in the BIM program you use.
What does the file contain?
The IFC file from Wenn Property contains a 3D model of the selected floor based on the LiDAR scan from the inspection. The model includes room shapes, walls, doors, windows and openings with their measurements — giving you a digital representation of the actual building to work on.
Typical uses
- Design — import the 3D model as a starting point for drawings and planning
- Quantity takeoff — use the geometry to calculate material requirements in the BIM tool
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration — share the file with an architect, consultant or contractor as a basis for further work
- Documentation — archive a digital model of the building as it was at the time of the inspection
Good to know
- IFC export is available per floor — select the floor you want to export in the left sidebar
- The file reflects what was captured during the 3D scan — furniture and loose objects are not included
