Understanding wall elevations and measurements

The wall elevation drawings show each wall in the room seen from the front — with the placement of doors, windows and dimensions. Use them to understand the scope of work per wall.

What is a wall elevation?

A wall elevation is a technical drawing that shows the wall seen straight from the front. The drawing shows the wall surface with all elements such as doors and windows placed in the correct position and size. All measurements are given in centimetres.

How to find the wall elevations

Select a room in the left sidebar (e.g. Kitchen)
Click «Vegger» (Walls) to expand the list
Select a specific wall (e.g. «Vegg 1» (Wall 1))
Under the «Informasjon» (Information) tab on the right, you'll see the drawing under the heading «Tegning» (Drawing)
Tap the drawing to open it full screen

How to read the drawing

The drawing shows the wall with the following elements:

The wall surface is shown as a rectangular frame with total width and height
Doors are shown as tall, narrow rectangles with a dot illustrating the door handle
Windows are shown as rectangles with a light-blue fill
Dimension lines show the width and height of the wall, doors and windows — all in centimetres
A scale is shown at the bottom of the drawing (e.g. 0 cm — 100 cm — 200 cm)

Key information per wall

To the right of the drawing, key information for the selected wall is also shown:

Windows, Doors and Openings — the number of each element
Gross area — total wall area including doors and windows
Net area — wall area minus doors and windows (the area that will actually be treated)
Height and Width — wall dimensions in centimetres
